How Banner Electric collects, uses, and protects information from visitors and customers.
Banner Electric ("Banner Electric," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit bannerelectric.us or contact us by phone, chat, or web form; how we use that information; who we share it with; and the choices you have. By using our website or contacting us, you agree to the practices described below.
Banner Electric is a licensed electrical contractor based at 1515 W Jefferson Street, Plymouth, Indiana 46563. We serve homeowners, businesses, and industrial customers across northern Indiana.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
When you fill out a quote request, contact form, review request, or chat with our Alex assistant, we collect the details you submit. This typically includes:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Service address or general project location
- Type of service requested (generator, residential, commercial, industrial, EV charger, battery backup, emergency service, etc.)
- Details about your property, project, timing, and any notes you choose to include
- Any messages you exchange with our chat assistant
When you call the phone number on our site, your call may be routed through a call-tracking service that records the calling number and the ad, campaign, or page that led to your call. Calls to our office may be recorded for quality and training purposes; if a call is being recorded, we will disclose that at the start of the call.
Information collected automatically
When you browse bannerelectric.us we and our service providers automatically collect standard web analytics data, including:
- IP address and approximate location (city / region)
- Browser type, device type, operating system, and screen size
- Referring website or ad, entry page, exit page, and pages viewed
- Date, time, and duration of your visit
- Interactions such as clicks, form starts, form submissions, and chatbot use
- Cookie and device identifiers used to attribute conversions and prevent fraud
Information from third parties
If you are referred to us by Google Ads, Google Search, Google Business Profile, or another third-party platform, that platform may pass along data about the click or lead (for example, a Google click ID) so we can measure ad performance.
2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for three basic purposes: to make the site work correctly, to measure how the site is used, and to measure the performance of our advertising. The primary technologies in use on bannerelectric.us are:
- Google Analytics 4 & Google Tag Manager — anonymous traffic and behavior analytics.
- Google Ads / Google conversion tracking — attributes form submissions and phone calls to the ad campaign that generated them.
- WhatConverts — tracks phone calls, form submissions, and chat conversations so we can identify which marketing sources produce customer inquiries.
- Alex chat assistant (Flowise) — powers the chat bubble on our pages, stores the messages you send it during your session so the conversation stays consistent, and lets our team follow up on your questions.
Most browsers let you control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies may affect how well portions of the site work — including the chat assistant — but will not prevent you from browsing our pages or calling us directly.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to your quote request, question, or service call
- Schedule appointments and dispatch technicians
- Send you estimates, invoices, and service reminders
- Ask for feedback or a Google review after we complete work for you
- Provide warranty, safety, and maintenance information about equipment we installed for you
- Improve our services, our website, and the accuracy of our marketing
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse (for example, honeypot fields on our forms)
- Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
4. Text Messages, Emails, and Calls (Communications Consent)
When you provide your phone number or email address on our website or through our chat assistant, you are consenting to be contacted by Banner Electric at that number or email address — including by phone call, text/SMS message, or email — regarding your inquiry, your project, scheduling, service reminders, review requests, and safety notices about equipment we installed for you. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
You can opt out of promotional email at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by replying to any email from us and asking to be removed. You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP to any text from us. Even after opting out of marketing, we may still contact you about active projects, scheduled service, warranty issues, and safety matters.
5. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only for the purposes described in this policy. These include:
- Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, Ads, Business Profile) — for site analytics, ad measurement, and review management.
- WhatConverts — for call tracking, form tracking, and lead attribution.
- Make.com — for automating what happens when a lead form is submitted (routing to email, CRM, or scheduling).
- Intuit QuickBooks — for estimates, invoicing, and customer records once we begin doing business with you.
- Flowise / our chat assistant infrastructure — to power the Alex chat experience.
- SiteGround — our web host.
- Google Workspace (Gmail) — for business email between Banner Electric and our customers.
- Payment processors — when you pay a Banner Electric invoice, your payment is handled by the processor named on that invoice (for example, Intuit Payments or an ACH provider). We do not store your full card or bank account number on our systems.
We may also disclose information (a) when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process; (b) to protect the safety, rights, or property of Banner Electric, our employees, our customers, or the public; or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy of our business.
6. How Long We Keep Information
We keep customer records for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide our services, fulfill warranty obligations, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements. Website analytics data is retained according to the default settings of each analytics platform. Chat transcripts are retained for a limited period so we can follow up on unresolved questions and improve the assistant.
7. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including HTTPS on our website, restricted access to customer records, and vendor selection criteria that include security. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request that we:
- Confirm whether we have information about you and provide a copy of it
- Correct information about you that is inaccurate
- Delete information about you, subject to legal exceptions (for example, active project records, warranty records, and tax records)
- Restrict or object to certain uses of your information
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — we do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense used by the California Consumer Privacy Act.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page. We will respond within the time period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
9. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond, so bannerelectric.us does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You can still control tracking through the opt-out tools described in Section 2.
10. Children
Our website and services are directed to homeowners and business decision-makers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party websites, such as manufacturer product pages (Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton) or our Google Business Profile. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their own privacy policies before providing information to them.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page or communicated to you by email if we have your email address on file.
